Haris Alam Khan earned his Bachelor of Architecture in 2008 from the National College of Arts in Lahore, Pakistan. His undergraduate thesis proposed a futuristic, industrialized development embedded within the dense and historically rich context of Lahore’s Upper Mall, reflecting an early interest in the interplay between tradition and modernity.

After graduating, Khan took on roles as Architect, Project Manager, and Lead Architect at various architecture and engineering firms. He contributed to a wide range of residential and large-scale institutional projects, including government compounds, where he brought a distinct design sensibility informed by a deep awareness of context and scale.

In 2013, he completed his Master’s in Architecture with distinction from the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Die Angewandte), graduating at the top of his class. His graduate work focused on urban design and narrative-driven architecture, blending urban planning with contemporary architectural theory. His projects explored hyper-industrial solutions for increasingly dense and rapidly urbanizing environments.

Upon returning to Pakistan in 2014, Khan worked as an independent consultant on a variety of projects before establishing his own firm, HK Architects. In parallel, he ventured into real estate development, independently managing the design, construction, and sale of residential properties—from site acquisition and planning to execution and delivery.

In addition to traditional architecture, Khan has long held an interest in architectural installation work and has provided consultancy services in this domain over the years. His professional journey reflects a wide-ranging interest in the intersection of art and architecture, and he is currently exploring the field of real-time generative visuals as part of his evolving creative practice.
